Is it over yet?

I think we can all agree that we are over this shit, right? Over the last year, I have attempted to sit down and write this blog, but I kept getting stuck. I wanted something humorous, something that would make people laugh, making people feel as if they are not alone in all of this. I wanted to bring my Melissa flare to it. But I kept getting stuck. Also, as I wrote this version, I hit something, and it deleted half my work.
Recently I have been reading articles or posts regarding the negative impact of COVID. I am not going to deny any of that. My children have been home for 49 weeks. FORTY-NINE WEEKS (BTW, you have a baby faster than this). On March 15, 2020, I sat down at my dining room table to reschedule two weeks' worth of appointments. Two weeks that isn't bad? I mean I can clean out the closets, the pantries, or really anything, right? How many of us learned how to bake bread? Side note - I inadvertently bought 200 pounds of flour. No, you did not read that wrong; 200 pounds of flour was delivered to my house. Of course, I shared it with my friends. That was cute. It was a drive-by pick-up. Open your trunk as you are passing my house, and I will throw it into your car. But do not get out of the car because you may have COVID
I will not deny the impact that COVID has had on us. Yes, I know many people have gotten sick and know some people who have died. COVID has impacted ALL of us. I do not want to focus on the negative in this blog. I want to focus on the positive. So what about the positive impact of COVID? If we have been in session together over the last several months, you know that I have tried to find the positive in all of this. When reframed, we learn how we have evolved over the last 49 weeks.
I want you to think about think how your life has changed. What are things that you have incorporated into your life? What are things that you have taken out of your life during all of this? Take a step back and think about who you were a year ago and what you felt was important to you then - now think about what is important to you now. What have you learned about yourself? What have you learned about others? More importantly, when the world opens up again, how will you do life differently?
---BTW, did I mentioned 49 weeks?
